What is Toastmasters?

Toastmasters is an educational organization that provides members with both professional and personal development opportunities. Through our public speaking curriculum, members gain confidence in delivering dynamic presentations. Our leadership curriculum also provides opportunities to develop and enhance vital professional skills such as leading a team, delegating effectively, coaching techniques, active listening skills and improving management skills. As you can see, toastmasters is more than just public speaking. And most of all our meetings are FUN!

The River City Toastmasters meets in the downtown area of Binghamton and is convenient to the busy professional, as our meetings are strictly one hour long and include lunch. In addition to encouraging members to develop through their own speeches, we provide monthly educational presentation to members on public speaking or leadership skills. Our members find that Toastmasters is an affordable alternative to traditional workshops and allows them to self direct their development and growth.
We meet on the First and Third Thursday of each month at 12PM sharp. Our meetings are held at the BU Small Business Development Center Classroom which is located on Water Street in the same building as the Lost Dog Café. To get to there, enter the building from Water St (by the hairstylist) and go to the third floor. Enter the door on your right and go down the hall to the classroom.
